KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 28, 2026: St George (CBSE) International School in Karimnagar town celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm on the campus on Saturday. Students conducted interactive science experiments at ‘Science Expo’, showcasing their creativity, curiosity and scientific temperament. The event highlighted the importance of science in everyday life and encouraged young learners to explore and innovate.
The National Science Day is celebrated in India to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Physicist CV Raman on February 28, 1928. India has been celebrating National Science Day since 1986, when the government of India decided to commemorate the announcement of the discovery of the Raman Effect and to encourage the development of a scientific mindset in the country.

The celebrations began with the lighting of a lamp by School Chairman P Fatima Reddy and other Science team faculty members. The event featured engaging exhibitions and presentations by students. The students delivered insightful presentations on topics including the Raman Effect and Solar Energy. Smart City projects, environmental protection, robotics, Indian scientists, recent innovations, space research, and more. The students also presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion.
