KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 27, 2026: Nowadays, most teenagers use social media. Not only teenagers, but almost everyone uses it. Social media helps us learn about the world and develop new skills. It also provides opportunities to gain fame and even earn money. Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube help teenagers stay connected with friends and access educational resources. They also raise awareness about global issues and can bring positive changes in society.
A good example is the case of a little girl named Punarvika, who suffers from a rare disease related to muscular development. Although a vaccine is available, it costs around sixteen crores for a single dose. Many influencers on social media supported her family and helped raise funds for her treatment. This shows the positive power of social media.

However, social media also has negative effects. Excessive use can reduce physical activity and disturb sleep patterns. It may also cause anxiety, depression, body shaming, scams, and online bullying. Therefore, parents and educators must teach teenagers healthy digital habits and encourage them to maintain proper screen time.
