NALGONDA, FEBRUARY 26, 2026: “This welcome party isn’t just a celebration; it’s a testament to the spirit of our Botany family – nurturing growth, one leaf at a time.
To our new MSc cohort, welcome to the green heart of our university! You’ve chosen botany not just as a subject, but as a gateway to understanding life’s quiet miracles right from the intricate dance of photosynthesis that powers our planet, to the resilient ecosystems fighting climate change,” said Head of the Department of Botany of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU), Madhuri.

Participating as the chief guest at the Welcome Party organised by the final year students of the Department of Botany on Thursday, Madhuri wished the students best of luck in their future endeavours. Speaking on the occasion, Adjunct Professor B Digambar Rao encouraged the students to dive into labs alive with ferns and fungi, field trips blooming with discoveries, and research that could shape a sustainable future. Earlier the welcome party truly came alive with cultural performances by students with folk songs and dances and skits, showcasing their talent and team spirit. Teachers of Botany P Sreenu, Y Venkateshwarlu, T Narsimha Swamy and E Shravya Puri were also present.
