KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 24, 2026: Erroju Venkateshwarlu, Head of the Telugu Department at Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College, Nagunur, was felicitated on receiving the prestigious “Sahitya Shri” National Award. The felicitation ceremony was organised by the college Principal, Vice Principal, and the teaching and non-teaching staff in recognition of his remarkable literary contributions.
Mr Erroju was selected for the award by the Akhil Bharatiya Bhasha Sahitya Sammelan, Bhopal, in appreciation of his three decades of literary service. He received the award in the presence of eminent national poets and scholars, including Padma Shri Vijayadutt Sridhar, Virendra Singh (President of the organisation), and Kriti Chaturvedi.

Beginning his teaching career in 1995 at Asifabad, Mr Erroju has served in several places, including Medipalli, Rukmapur, Husnabad, Indaram, Jaipur, and Mudhol. He also held the positions of Vice Principal and Principal at Nirmal Degree College, where he carried out his responsibilities with dedication and efficiency.
Over the past thirty years, he has been serving in Gurukula institutions, inspiring students through his commitment to education and literature. He has previously received Best Teacher Awards for his excellence in teaching.
On the occasion, Principal T. Malathi praised Mr Erroju’s significant contributions as a Telugu lecturer and poet. Vice Principal S. Padmaja, ACO G. Vasumathi, Superintendent Suresh Kumar, PRO Imroze Shahewar, lecturers P. Shankaraiah, G. Samatha, M. Kalyani, along with other staff members and students, participated in the event and extended their heartfelt congratulations.
