HANAMKONDA, FEBRUARY 22, 2026: Officials of Drugs Control Administration, Telangana raided a quack’s clinic in Shayampet Village, Shayampet Mandal, Hanumakonda District, and seized drugs illegally stocked for sale.
On credible information, Drugs Control Administration officials, on Saturday, raided the premises of a quack/unqualified practitioner, Racharla Prabhakar, situated at First Aid Clinic, Shayampet Village, who was conducting clinical practice without proper qualifications at his clinic.

During the raid, DCA officials detected 30 varieties of medicines, including Physician’s Samples, Institutional Supply medicines, antibiotics, steroids, habit-forming drugs such as Tramadol injections, etc., which were illegally stocked at the premises. The total worth of the stock seized is Rs. 35,000/-.
DCA officials detected several higher-generation ‘antibiotics’ at the clinic during the raid. The indiscriminate sale of antibiotics by unqualified persons may have disastrous consequences on the health of the public, including the emergence of ‘Antimicrobial Resistance’.
Officials found ‘steroids’ at the clinic of the quack. Misusing steroids can have serious health consequences, including immune system suppression, hormonal imbalances, muscle and bone weakness, cardiovascular problems, and psychological effects. The indiscriminate use of steroids poses significant risks to public health.
J Kiran Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Hanumakonda and P. Shravan Kumar, Drugs Inspector, Warangal carried out the raid under the supervision of G. Rajyalakshmi, Assistant Director, Warangal. DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis. Further investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
DCA Director-General Shanawaz Qasim said the public may report any complaints regarding illegal activities related to medicines, as well as any other suspected manufacturing activities concerning drugs, including narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, in residential, commercial, or industrial areas through the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana Toll-Free Number 1800-599-6969, operational from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm on all working days.
