HYDERABAD, FEBRUARY 04, 2026: The Government Degree College in Rajendranagar observed World Wetlands Day on Wednesday.
On this occasion, College Principal M Himabindu presented the awards to the students who excelled in the drawing competitions conducted by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI). Speaking on the occasion, Himabindu laid emphasis on how wetlands were a critical ecosystem, but contributed a lot to the life system all over the globe. Zoology department faculty members S Venkataiah, other faculty members Venkatesh Goud, Sudhakar, M Umakanth, K Haritha, Mangal Das and others were also present.
Similarly, the College also conducted an awareness programme on the occasion of World Cancer Day.
