KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 09, 2026: Sankranthi celebrations were grandly celebrated at Achievers Active School in Kothirampur, Karimnagar town, on Friday.
On this occasion, the entire school was decorated to resemble a village atmosphere with rangolis, etc. The model Godadevi Kalyanam (wedding ceremony) was also performed. Rangoli competitions were held for the girl students, and kite flying competitions were held for the boys, with prizes awarded to the winners. The Haridasu devotional songs in the cultural programs that followed were very captivating. The beautifully decorated doll added to the charm of the event.
Later, school principal Ch Pallavi poured ‘Bhogi Pallu’ on tiny tots, as is a ritual during the festival. School director Ch Venkateswarlu enlightened the students about the significance of the Sankranthi festival, and the school principal, Ch Pallavi, described the way the Sankranthi festival is celebrated and mentioned that the festival is famous for its traditional sweets and savouries. They also participated in the lighting of a bonfire (bhogi mantalu).
