A novel initiative taken up by Daram Susheela Devi Charitable Trust in Karimnagar
KARIMNAGAR, JANUARY 09, 2026: In a novel road safety initiative, Karimnagar town-based Daram Susheela Devi Charitable Trust, Boyawada, Karimnagar town, has installed radium (reflective) stickers on old tyres to prevent accidents on the roads in various parts of Karimnagar district.
As part of the ongoing National Road Safety Awareness Month celebrations, the charitable trust had converted the old tyres into traffic signboards by painting them with Radium stickers, which are widely used for road safety to enhance visibility in low-light in nights or foggy conditions, to prevent accidents.
Trust chairman and senior physician Dr Raghu Raman said that ‘Radium stickers may be small, but they make a big difference in preventing accidents during the nights’. It is only a small initiative on behalf of our charitable trust to prevent accidents and save lives, he added. He said that they had set up these radium-sticker tyres at several blind spots in the district.
