
The biennial jatara will be held from January 28 to 31, 2026
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, DECEMBER 17, 2025: With the biennial Samakka-Sarakka jatara scheduled to be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, in Medaram of Mulugu district, the devotees’ rush had swelled at Sri Raja Rajarajeshwara Swamy devasthanam in Vemulawada of Rajanna-Sircilla.
As it is a ritual for the devotees going on a pilgrimage to the Medaram Samakka-Sarakka jatara, they would first offer prayers at the Vemulawada temple shrine and take blessings for the safe and happy pilgrimage to the biennial Samakka-Sarakka jatara.
Accordingly, the devotees’ rush had been increasing at Sri Bheemeshwara temple in Vemulawada. The devotees are seen offering ‘kode mokku’, abhishekam, anna puja, chandi homam, nitya kalyanam, Satyanarayana vratam and other puja rituals.

Temple Executive Officer Rama Devi was seen personally supervising the arrangements for the devotees, including queue lines, sanitation, drinking water and other facilities. She also instructed the temple staff to behave politely with the devotees.
She also informed the devotees not to sprinkle vermillion or turmeric on the oxen as it would fall on its eyes, and also appealed to devotees not to present flower garlands as they would contain threads.
Elaborate arrangements for Medaram jatara pilgrims
Devasthanam authorities are also sprucing up the temple shrine special illuminations
In view of the heavy pilgrim rush in the days to come before the Medaram jatara, the Vemulawada temple authorities had been taking all measures to provide adequate facilities for the pilgrims visiting the shrine to offer prayers.
The devasthanam authorities were making additional arrangements at the queue lines, including Rs 100 special darshan and Rs 300 Shigra darshan. They were constructing additional washrooms for the benefit of pilgrims in the queue lines.
In view of prevailing cool weather conditions, the authorities had set up additional hot water connections for the benefit of devotees for their shower before offering prayers. The authorities were also giving top priority to the sanitation at the temple shrine with additional staff.
