
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 07, 2025: Governor and Chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma has called upon the budding Satavahana University to pursue National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation and National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), a national ranking based on quantitative data.
Participating at the Satavahana University’s second convocation in Karimnagar town on Friday, the Governor said that the Satavahana University is progress with excellence and it is time for the university for NAAC and NIRF recognition. Quoting former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, who said, “Education gives you wings to fly — and the courage to fly higher, he said that “May your wings never tire, your hearts never falter, and your purpose always shine through service”.
Hyderabad Central University Vice Chancellor BJ Rao, who participated as the Chief guest, said that the Satavahana University, a young university, has become a vital centre for higher education in north Telangana. It represents academic progress and impressive achievements, he said.

Satavahana University Vice Chancellor Prof U Umesh Kumar said that a total of colleges were affiliated to the university. He said that he had ensured strict student attendance in the colleges by introducing facial biometric attendance. He also said that they had extensive CCTV camera surveillance in the university to ensure the safety of students and added that the university had several patents due to the creative approach of students. He also said that the job mela conducted recently on the campus had helped more than 500 students secure employment.
