
Convocation ceremony under tight security
Arrangements to hold it in grand style
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 04, 2025: Satavahana University, which is moving ahead in the development of Telangana state, is all set for its second convocation.
The university is preparing to hold it grandly under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Umesh Kumar at the sports ground in the SU. The state governor and university chancellor Jishnu Dev Varma is the chief guest for this program, while Hyderabad Central University vice-chancellor Prof B J Rao is coming to deliver the keynote address.
In this second convocation, 161 students who have shown outstanding performance in postgraduate courses under the university will be awarded gold medals, as well as 25 research scholars who have shown excellence in research. For this, gold medals were presented by 24 eminent persons and some trusts. In August, Vice Chancellor Prof.Umesh went on a tour of America and met Telangana intellectuals there to strengthen the university and raise funds for infrastructure and the best laboratory equipment. As per the directions of the State Council of Higher Education, facial biometrics is being implemented for teachers and students in all courses of the university. As part of the best facilities for students, digital and smart classes have been provided to each department. Computer labs have been set up for each campus college.
A seminar hall in the Arts College and another meeting hall on the second floor of the administrative building have been renovated for various workshops and other purposes. Vice Chancellor Umesh Kumar said that we are marching towards holistic development in all fields and implementing new reforms in SU.
The second convocation is also being held with utmost security arrangements. The candidates who will attend the convocation have registered their names online and will be given passes along with them, which the candidates can get from 1 pm to 4 pm on November 5 by submitting their identity proof, said Controller of Examinations D Suresh Kumar. Those who have not applied in advance will not be given degrees at the convocation, and the candidates who will attend should sit in their allotted seats in the convocation premises by 9:30 am on the 7th. The convocation will commence from 10 am to 1:30 pm, and strict measures are being taken to ensure that there are no obstacles, said Vice-Chancellor Prof Umesh Kumar.
