HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 29, 2025: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign-2025, “DAE Vigilance Conclave @ Hyderabad” was jointly organised by the units of the Department of Atomic Energy located at Hyderabad, i.e., NFC, EClL, AMD, TIFR, NCCCM-BARC at Homi Bhabha Convention Centre, Nuclear Fuel Complex, Hyderabad, on Wednesday.
Yashashri Shukla, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (IP&TA&FS 1996) inaugurated the programme as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering. Mrs Shukla, in her address, stated the importance of preventive vigilance in combating corruption. Further, she has highlighted the role of CVC in coordinating with various Ministries / Departments/PSU’s/ Autonomous bodies of Government for promoting transparency and integrity in public governance.
Dr Ajit Kumar Mohanty, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, in his message on this occasion, stated that India’s goal is to achieve full energy Independence by 2047. This involves increasing domestic production and reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels. He stated that the vision of Viksit Bharat aims to transform India into a developed country by 2047, focusing on economic growth, scientific and technological advancement, infrastructure development, social empowerment and sustainability. Further, he has also stated that as a part of Viksit Bharat, the Department of Atomic Energy aimed to achieve 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047 and also to meet the net-zero emission targets by 2070. In order to achieve the targets, all the stakeholders in the department will have to work with dedication and honesty.
Dr Komal Kapoor, Chairman & Chief Executive, NFC, in his address to the gathering, stated that “Corruption is an obstacle in the growth of the nation and vigilance is a tool for maintaining honesty, integrity, and adherence to strong moral principles in all our actions. NFC is a frontrunner in the Department for demonstrating Atmanirbhar Bharat and is the only source for meeting the fuel requirements of the nuclear power plants in India. He has stated that NFC is going to play a crucial role in meeting the target set by the Government of India, that is, 100 GW of nuclear power generation by 2047 and meeting net zero emissions by 2070. To achieve all the goals, NFC is geared up to multiply its activities are going to be manifold. Thus, he concluded that NFC is required to be more vigilant while undertaking this mammoth task.
Mr Anurag Kumar, CMD, ECIL, while addressing the gathering on the occasion, stated that sensitising employees is an important aspect of preventive vigilance. Such programmes will certainly help the organisations in strengthening the vigilance mechanism.
On this occasion, Dr Anupam Sharma, Distinguished Scientist & Director, DSP, DRDO has also addressed the gathering while P. Subrahmanyam, Dy. Supdt. Of Police, CBI and Bharat Bhushan Verma, Dy CEO and CVO, GeM, New Delhi, have delivered their respective talks.
P Krishna Kumar, ITS, CVO, ECIL & UCIL, Anuradha, Vigilance Officer, NFC, and M. Shiva Kumar, Dy. Chief Executive (Administration) have coordinated the programme.
