KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 23, 2024: Students of Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS), autonomous, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, are all joyful and rejoiced over the college signing a memorandum of understanding with Louisiana Tech University (LTU) in USA for research and admission to higher education.
Following the craze for United States, as an ideal higher education destination, among the Indian student community, the signing of MoU with LTU by JITS has boosted the morale of the student community to pursue higher education MS in USA with ease. They were also happy that they would be exposed to thrust areas of research and studies, with a view of fostering academic collaboration and promoting cutting-edge research.
Under the terms of the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate on the following initiatives:
- Master’s Program (M.S) Admissions: The MoU facilitates students of JITS to seek admission to Graduate Certificate and Masters programs at Louisiana Tech University, USA with the guidance of faculty advisors of Louisiana Tech Graduate School and International Student Office staff.
- Financial Assistance (Scholarship): Louisiana Tech will take steps wherever possible to provide financial support in the form of graduate assistantships to students from JITS.
- Faculty Exchange: Facilitate faculty exchanges between the institutions to strengthen collaborative efforts, which may eventually lead to the establishment of Centers of Excellence in selected areas.
- Professional Development: JITS and LTU will work together to organize workshops, seminars, and training programs for students and faculty members to enhance their professional skills and knowledge.
Buoyed over the signing of MoU with LTU, the students of JITS are gearing up to take up their higher education in USA with more confidence as there is no need to stress themselves by approaching the consultancies and waiting for the Visas. N Sowmya, a final year student of CSE, exuded confidence of landing in USA for pursuing her dream MS course in USA without any tension and total security.
S Mahati another final year student said that there is no need to run after consultancies for studying higher education in USA. Our own JITS college has made it easy to study abroad in a reputed educational institution, she stated. T Sumanth said that we are also confident of securing scholarships from LTU to study MS and get financial assistance as graduate assistantship. P Ishwairaya, another final year student, said that she would soon fulfill her dream of studying in USA and excel in her chosen career.
JITS Dean (academics) K Vaishali said that the LTU has agreed to help the JITS students in research and development, faculty exchange, joint consultancies, training of students and faculty. The JITS would be arranging guest lectures, joint international conferences and seminars for the students. She said that the signing of MoU is a boon to the students as well as the faculty members.
Louisiana Tech University, located in Ruston, Louisiana, USA is a prominent and highly ranked public research university established in 1894 known for its engineering, science, and business programs. Programs offered by the LTU’s School of Engineering are accredited by ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology), ensuring the quality and rigor of the curriculum. The school’s reputation for excellence in engineering education is recognized nationally and internationally.
Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology & Science, a pioneer institution in Telangana established in 1997 is the first Autonomous Engineering College in Karimnagar and is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and NAAC with A Grade. JITS which is always ahead in setting academic trends, is the first and only institution in the region to have signed a MoU with a USA University for the benefit of its students.
