

TIRUMALA, OCTOBER 23, 2025: Sri Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala Himself symbolically sends the prasadam-Appa Padi to His ardent devotees as a mark of His infinite compassion and grace. towards them.
The ”Appapadi” is an age-old ritual that continues unbroken through the ages, which will be presented on the auspicious occasions of the observance of the birth star festivals of eminent Sri Vaishnava Acharyas, several auspicious occasions this month.
In this connection, special Appapadi ceremonies will be organised at Sri Govindarajaswami Temple in Tirupati, which includes Tirumala Nambi Sattumura on October 24, Manavala Mahamuni Sattumura on October 27, and Vedanta Desikan Sattumura on October 30.
On the occasion of the Tirunakshatra celebrations of these great Sri Vaishnava saints of the 14th and 15th centuries, the traditional Appapadi will be sent from Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala to the ancient Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple at Tirupati.
The Appapadi consists of 51 Appams(a sweet) along with camphor and sandalwood. Special pujas will be performed at the Tirumala temple in the presence of the Archakas, Jeeyar Swamis and officials.
The temple Paricharakas will then carry the Appapadi in a ceremonial procession through the four Mada streets around the temple, finally reaching Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple at Tirupati.
From there, the disciples of the respective Acharya traditions will carry the offerings in a devotional procession and perform Sattumura at the respective sanctums dedicated to the Sri Vaishnava Acharyas in Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple.
