
Divert buses en route to the MGBS bus station until floodwater recedes in Musi
Display caution boards at all water stagnation points and the overflowing Musi area
HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 27, 2025: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy took stock of the situation along the Musi river which is in spate due incessant rains and lifting of the gates of two overflowing major reservoirs of Osman Sagar and Himayat Nagar in Hyderabad.
In view of increasing flood flow in river Musi , the Chief Minister ordered the officials to take appropriate precautions in all low-lying areas and evacuate people to safer places. Rehabilitation measures will also be provided to the evacuated families in the relief camps.
The CM personally reviewed the relief measures taken to safely evacuate the passengers who were stranded in the MGBS bus station, which was covered with floodwaters at midnight. CM Revanth Reddy spoke to the officials on the phone constantly and instructed for the safe evacuation of the stranded passengers. The officials were also instructed to divert buses coming to MGBS from various areas to alternative routes.
Since it was the season of Dasara and Batukamma festivities, the chief minister directed the TGSRTC officials to take necessary measures to ensure that passengers reached their destinations safely from MGBS bus station.
Following the IMD forecast that Hyderabad will receive heavy rains for the second consecutive day today, the CM ordered the Police, Traffic, HYDRAA, GHMC and Electricity department to remain on alert. The officials of all departments should join the rescue and relief operations in the heavy rain affected areas.
CM Revanth Reddy also suggested to the officials to put up display boards at all water stagnation points in the city and also at the locations where flood water reached dangerous levels in Musi. Traffic diversions should be done without any inconvenience to the commuters, the CM said.
