
The rich cultural heritage displayed by the various artistes as part of the Tirumala Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavam in Tirumala on Friday morning in front of Simha Vahanam impressed devotees.
A total of 20 teams with 557 artists from 9 states participated and further enhanced the grandeur of Vahana seva.
Major dance performances included Gussadi dance (Telangana), Tippani (Gujarat), Lavani (Maharashtra), Bharatanatyam, Navadurga, Kuchipudi (Andhra Pradesh), Bihu dance (Assam), Sampalpuri dance (Odisha), Drum acrobatics Gaurasur (Jharkhand), Sri Venkateswara Mahatyam (Karnataka), Dhak dance (West Bengal) and many more.
Among these, Gussadi is a heroic dance of the Gond tribe, performed during festivals. Gaurasur is also a similar heroic dance performed wearing face masks, while the Dhak Dance (West Bengal) is a lively dance performed with the Dhak instrument, mainly performed during Durga Puja.
The unique art forms of various states gave an unprecedented experience to the devotees.
