
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 12, 2025: Zilla High Parishad School, Mallapur, Timmapur Mandal, hosted a vibrant reading festival that saw enthusiastic participation from students. The event, held under the leadership of Headmistress Pooram Umarani, brought together staff and students to promote a love for reading on Friday.
The programme was attended by English Teacher Syed Shafeeq, Telugu Teacher K. Lalitha, Hindi Teacher Md. Shareef Ahmed and students from classes six to ten.
The festival began with a large-scale mass drill led by Hindi teacher Md. Shareef Ahmed, which was performed by the students. Following the drill, the reading festival officially commenced, with teachers explaining the importance of reading to the students.
Addressing the gathering, Headmistress Pooram Umarani emphasised that reading is the key to introducing students to a wider world. She stated that reading fosters knowledge, creativity, and analytical thinking. Following her address, students took turns reading aloud from their favourite books. The event concluded with a meditation session.
