
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 28, 2025: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had rescued seven farmers stranded in the Narmal project in Gambhiraopet mandal on Thursday by deploying Army helicopters.
Upon learning of the incident where farmers were stranded in the Narmal project due to steady inflows following bountiful rains, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha and Superintendent of Police Mahesh B. Gite personally monitored the rescue operations. Farmers Jangam Swamy, Pitla Swamy, Pitla Mahesh, Pitla Narsimhlu, Dhyanaboiyina Swamy, Besi Pradeeep and Beesi Chaya were stranded in the Narmal Project (Upper Manar Dam) following the sudden inflows due to incessant rains.
Government Whip and Vemulawada legislator Adi Srinivas, along with others, personally supervised the rescue operations using two Army helicopters.
