
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 25, 2025: The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of Government Degree College, Gambhiraopet, organised a poster presentation to mark International Women’s Equality Day on Monday. A total of 25 posters were presented by the students, highlighting themes of gender equality, women’s rights, and empowerment.
The programme was graced by Principal V Vijayalakshmi, who emphasised that Women’s Equality Day is celebrated worldwide to commemorate the struggle for women’s voting rights and to reaffirm the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for women in all spheres of life. She stated that true development is possible only when women and men move forward together with equal rights and dignity.
WEC Coordinator Vani expressed that such activities encourage students to think critically about the challenges faced by women and the role of youth in building a gender-equal society.
NSS Programme Officer Dharmapuri Anjaneeyulu, Vice Principal Sravan, Sucharan and other faculty members also attended the programme and appreciated the creativity and social awareness reflected in the posters and models presented. The event concluded with the message that Women’s Equality Day is not only a reminder of past struggles but also a call to action for achieving real equality in today’s world.
