

KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 09, 2025: Members of the Gandhi Club in Karimnagar town paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and brave freedom fighters who participated in the 83rd Quit India movement, which is also called August Kranthi Divas, hailing their sacrifices as a spark that ignited India’s collective resolve for Independence.
At a programme organised on the premises of the Collectorate in Karimnagar town, the Gandhi Club members paid tributes to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue on the premises. Telangana Gandhi Clubs president Joginapalli Raghunandhan Rao, President of Karimnagar Gandhi club Tatikonda Bhaskar, members Uppala Ramesham, Pendyala Kesava Reddy, Chittimalla Damodar, Kacham Krishna Murthy, Satyanarayana Raju, Todupunuri Tirupati, Rachamalla Narsaiah and others participated in the programme.
On this occasion, they remembered with gratitude all those brave people who, under the inspiring leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, took part in the Quit India movement. Their courage lit a spark of patriotism that united countless people in the quest for freedom, they added.
It may be recalled that Mahatma Gandhi gave the call of ‘Do or Die’ to all Indians to drive the British away from the country on August 8, 1942.
