HYDERABAD, MARCH 15, 2024: BJP raises a curtain for political high drama by arresting BRS MLC Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam case purportedly to gain political mileage in the Lok Sabha elections. It is also seen BJP’s attempt to erase the blot it has been carrying for quite some time that BJP has been shielding Kavitha in the case as TRS is the ‘B’ team of the saffron party.
The timing of her arrest is giving doubts to political analysts and general observers. Why did BJP spare her all these months when all other accused were arrested a long back. Same case, same charges and almost same Sections. No major changes in the case. I don’t mean that the arrest is wrong. But, only the timing reeks of something.
As BJP realised that BRS is a “political deadwood and became a non-entity and after the parliament elections it would practically disappear from the public life the Delhi rulers got down to act. By all said and done, it’s a discreet decision and politically matured move.
Political alleys turned foes. The MIM, another political ally of BRS joined hands with Congress for its obvious reasons. It left the BRS to its lurch. Former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), the “crownless monarch” who ruled the State ‘dictatorially, autocratically and undemocratically’ for 10 long year’s remains dejected for the unethical act of his daughter.
