Emphasises Discipline and Dedication in Medical Services
HYDERABAD, MAY 29, 2025: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has consistently committed to providing high-quality medical services to its employees and their families without hesitation on financial grounds. The management has ensured the availability of all necessary diagnostic equipment and medicines. However, expressing serious concern, Chairman and Managing Director N. Balram questioned why some area hospitals are still negligent in sending timely proposals for required equipment.
On Thursday, he held a comprehensive review meeting with Area Medical Officers from all area hospitals across the Singareni. Speaking on the occasion, he instructed that all area hospitals must immediately submit proposals for essential medical equipment and medicines. He warned that during his future inspections, no officer should say a certain piece of equipment is unavailable. Irrespective of annual plans or schedules, the requirement for medical devices should be identified and proposals submitted without delay.
He stated that doctors and technicians have already been allocated to area hospitals, and the management is ready to provide additional manpower if needed. Despite the ability to treat minor health issues at local hospitals, cases are frequently being referred to Hyderabad hospitals. Over the past three years, referral bills have increased from ₹30 crores to ₹100 crores, he pointed out. He expressed disappointment that company doctors are not demonstrating their capability and are referring even minor cases unnecessarily.
The CMD urged doctors to serve with dedication and maintain strict discipline in their duties. SCCL spends over ₹400 crores annually for employee healthcare and medical infrastructure development and is continuously modernising its hospitals. He also informed that efforts are underway to establish a super-speciality hospital in Hyderabad.
In light of this, he called upon all doctors working in Singareni to function with complete dedication and win the trust of employees. He reminded that, while there were funding constraints for medical services in the past, the current administration is committed to providing full financial support without any cuts or limitations. He emphasised that it is the responsibility of hospital management to make optimal use of this favourable environment.
He also urged all area hospitals to remain fully prepared to handle any possible outbreak of COVID-19 in the future. The review meeting was attended by SCCL Directors D. Satyanarayana Rao (E&M), L.V. Suryanarayana Rao (Operations), K. Venkateshwarlu (P&P, PA), Executive Director (Coal Movement) S.D.M. Subhani, GM (Marketing) N.V. Rajasekhar Rao, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Kiran Raj Kumar, and key officials from all area hospitals.
