MULUGU, MAY 08, 2025: In a shocking incident, three junior commandoes of Greyhounds, an elite anti-naxalite force of the Telangana state, were killed in a landmine triggered by the Maoist Naxalites in Mulugu district of Telangana state along the and Chhattisgarh states on Thursday.
The Maoists triggered the landmine when the Greyhounds commandos were engaged in regularly area domination exercise at Veerabadravaram-Tadapala hillocks of Wajeedu-Peruru forest area of Mulugu district. The police suspect that the Naxalites might have resorted to this extreme act in protest against a major encounter in the Karregutta area in the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border, where some 22 Maoists were reportedly killed in a firefight with security forces.
