

NALGONDA, APRIL 14, 2025; Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) Vice-Chairman Prof. Etikaala Purushotham said that education is a social medicine and urged students to realize the truth that education is a medium to reach their goals. He announced that steps would be taken towards policy changes to develop skills among students from the upcoming academic year.
The four-day celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, organised by Mahatma Gandhi University, came to a grand end with a pledge to create an inclusive society for social change. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Purushotham called upon all to participate in the philosophical consciousness of great men who ushered in radical change.
Delhi University Professor Inukonda Tirumali spoke about the independence struggle, Phule Ambedkar’s struggle, the Constitution, and protection policies aimed at eradicating inequalities and establishing a single nation. Osmania University Professor Adapa Satyanarayana highlighted the exemplary lives of Phule, Ambedkar and Babu Jagjivan Ram, who worked tirelessly for a humane, ideal society free from exploitation, discrimination, and inequality. He emphasized their relevance to historical study and consciousness and urged sensitivity to contemporary issues. Chairman of the Telangana State Libraries Dr. Riyaz emphasized questioning the historical backwardness of the oppressed and downtrodden sections with a rational and scientific perspective. He advocated for the Constitution, infused with the essence of four world revolutions and Buddhist philosophy, to be the guiding compass for building a nation and working towards a cohesive society.
MGU Vice-Chancellor Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain stated that the lives of great people prove education can transform society by respecting and admiring diversity. The event concluded with prizes being awarded to students who won various competitions, and 57 students and faculty members donated blood in a camp organized by NSS. MGU Registrar Prof Aluvala Ravi, Programme Chairperson and Principal of Arts Dr. Aruna Priya, festival committee chairman Acharya Koppula Anji Reddy, convener Dr. Sridevi, college principals Dr. Prem Sagar and Sudharani, Deans Prof. Vasantha, Prof. Rekha, Prof. Saritha, Kalyani, Dr. Domala Ramesh, Sabina Herald, Dr. Y. Prashanthi, and other faculty members and students participated in the programme.
