
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, APRIL 11, 2025: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Women’s Degree College in Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, came alive with vibrant energy as students and faculty gathered to celebrate the birth anniversary of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on Friday. The event was organised by the college’s NSS unit and aimed to honor Phule’s legacy while inspiring students with his vision of equality and education for all.
The celebration featured a series of cultural and educational activities, including elocution, essay writing, and drawing competitions, all centered around Phule’s life and message. Through these events, students explored his contributions to social justice and the fight against discrimination, especially in the field of education.
Speaking at the event, faculty members reminded students of Phule’s belief that education is the key to personal and societal transformation and that it must be made accessible to everyone, regardless of background.
The program was well-attended, with Principal K Lavanya, Vice Principal B Sumalatha, NSS Program Officer V Swapna, Advisory Council members R. Deepti and G. Swapna, and many enthusiastic students and staff joining in to make the event a meaningful and memorable one.
