HANAMKONDA, APRIL 10, 2025: As part of the World Health Day celerbations, the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a Free “Diet Camp” on Thusrday at Vaagdevi degree and PG college in Hanamkonda in Warangal.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Esam Narayana, Professor of Zoology, Kakatiya University. In his address, Prof. Narayana commended the Department of Food Science and Nutrition for its commendable efforts in promoting health awareness and providing personalized nutritional guidance to the public. He appreciated the initiative as a meaningful step toward fostering a health-conscious community.
The event witnessed the active and enthusiastic participation of several esteemed dignitaries from the academic community, including: A. Sheshachalam, Principal, P. Harendar Reddy, Vice Principal, G. Raja Prasad, IQAC Coordinator, G. Vikram, Dean of Life Sciences and Heads of Various Departments.
The camp was a resounding success, with around 150 participants benefiting from BMI assessments and receiving personalized diet plans. The Nutrition students, under the expert guidance of Senior Dietician Saritha Sree, played a key role in conducting the diet counseling sessions with professionalism and enthusiasm.
This initiative not only highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition but also served as a practical learning experience for the students, while strengthening the college’s commitment to community well-being. The Department extends its heartfelt thanks to Management, principal and all participants who helped make this event impactful and successful.
