

A total of 28,000 votes remained invalid
KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 04, 2025: BJP-supported candidate Anji Reddy is leading in the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates’ Constituency in the Legislative Council elections, for which counting began on Monday.
On the second day of the counting of votes on Tuesday, the BJP contestant Anji Reddy has secured 8619 votes in the third round of counting against the Congress contestant Alphores Narender Reddy, who secured 5614 votes and BSP contestant Prasanna Harikrishna secured 5086 votes. Independent Yadagiri Shekhar Rao seured 975 votes, Ravinder Singh 361 votes, and Mohd Mushtaq Ali secured 604 votes.
So far, 63,000 votes were counted in three rounds and the fourth round of counting had started. There would be 11 rounds of counting. It may be recalled that a record number of over 28,000 votes remained as invalid in the Graduates constituency. Against a total of 2,52,100 votes polled, a total of 2,24,000 votes remained valid and 28,000 votes. Returning officer and Collector Pamela Satpathy had personally inspected the invalid votes.
