
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 21, 2024: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the police and paramilitary forces on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day a flag day was held on the premises of Police Headquarters in Karimnagar town on Monday.
Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty placed a wreath at the Police martyrs memorial and paid tributes and took general salute. A Smriti parade was organised for this solemn occasion and observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect.
Speaking on the occasion, the CP said that the day was celebrated all over the country to pay rich tributes to martyrs of the state police and paramilitary forces. The day is celebrated after 10 jawans of the CRPF laid down their lives on October 21, 1959, in Ladakh while patrolling at the Indo-China border, he said. He said this year over 200 paramilitary and police personnel laid down their lives in the line of their duties. He also interacted with the martyrs family members and assured to solve their grievances.
