

KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 13, 2024: Doctors associated with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Karimnagar chapter celebrated the ‘Shami puja’ with reverence to ‘Jammi chettu’ (Prosopis Cineraria) as part of the Dasara festivities on the premises of IMA in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
IMA district president Dr Anamalla Naresh, general secretary Dr S Naveen Kumar, and treasurer Dr Ch Vijay Kumar performed special pujas amid chanting of Vedic hymns. According to legends, Jammi Chettu is venerated in the twin epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. According to history, the Pandavas hid their arms among tree branches during their forest sojourn.
