
The student is not interested in staying in hostelÂ
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 21, 2024: An eighth-class student from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Veernapalli, allegedly jumped off the first floor of the school building to commit suicide on Friday evening as she was not interested in staying in the hostel.
Ashvitha (13), a native of Maddimalla village of Veernapalli mandal, is studying in the KGBV Veernapalli as her father Srinivas migrated to a Gulf country to eke out a living. Her mother used to force her to go to KGBV, but she was not interested to stay in the hostel. Unable to undergo mental torture, she had decided to commit suicide jumped off the school building.
Immediately, the KGBV officials have her shifted to a private hospital in Yellareddypet mandal. Following the news, Sircilla DMHO Dr M Vasanth Rao visited the hospital and consoled the girl student and also inquired about the girl’s health condition with the doctors.
Dr Vasanth Rao said that the girl sustained minor fracture on the spine and it would be cured with the medicines without requirement of any surgery. He said that the psychologists had counselled the girl student and advised parents to be humble with their children and not to abuse them for petty issues.
Similarly, the DMHO had also consoled Ramavath Rohith, a student of Galipalli BC social welfare hostel, who was bitten by a snake and undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Mandal incharge medical officer Dr Sravanthi and others were also present.
