HYDERABAD, JULY 04, 2024: K Keshava Rao, who rejoined the Congress party on Wednesday, has tendered his resignation from the membership of Rajya Sabha on Thursday. He submitted his resignation to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar in New Delhi.
Mr Keshava Rao was made Rajya Sabha member by the BRS in 2020 and he was still having two more years of term. But, he quit to the Rajya Sabha member after joining the Congress party. A senior Congress leader Mr Keshava Rao, who was associated with the party for almost five decades, had joined the TRS (now BRS) in 2013 during the statehood movement.
He joined the Congress party on Wednesday in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Congress senior leaders KC Venugopal and others. His daughter and GHMC Mayor G Vijayalakshmi had already joined the Congress party in March this year.
