PEDDAPALLI, JUNE 29, 2024: All-India Congress Committee is contemplating to rope in Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu for the post of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) as the term of existing president and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has expired.
Sources said that the Chief Minister and Deputy CM Batti Vikramarka and Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy had also suggested the candidature of Minister Sridhar Babu for the TPCC president post for his statesmanship and good leadership qualities of coordinating with all sections and strengthening the party. It may be recalled that Mr Sridhar Babu took initiatives to pacify the sulking MLC T Jeevan Reddy when BRS Jagital legislator Dr M Sanjay Kumar joined the Congress party by taking him to the party high command.
Mr Sridhar Babu, who had set a record from the Manthani assembly segment by winning five times as legislator from the segment in 1999, 2004, 2009, 2018 and 2023 elections, is known for his humble nature and having patient hearing for the grievances of the people. As the integrated Karimnagar DCC president also, he has won accolades for the strengthening of the party.
The party high command is planning to rope in Mr Sridhar Babu for the TPCC president post because of his clean chit and having good say in entire Telangana state. If the Congress party selects him for the TPCC president post, Mr Sridhar Babu would be discharging both the posts of Minister for IT and Industries and also TPCC president, the sources said.
