KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 30, 2024: The traditional ‘Bonalu’ festival was celebrated with much pomp and gaiety by the Mudiraj community at the Peddamma temple in Bhagathnagar of Karimnagar town on Sunday evening.
Women carrying ‘Bonalu’ have arrived in a procession from various parts of the town to the Peddamma temple amid beats of traditional percussion beats in gay abandon. Mayor Y Shekhar Rao, municipal corporators Choppari Jayashree, Thota Ramulu and Akula Narmada Narsaiah and others participated in the celebrations by carrying ‘bonam’.
The Bonalu festival was also celebrated the Devullapuri in Ramachandrapur colony also. Mudiraj community leaders Choppari Venu, Pandaga Nagaraju, Kumban Anil, Kolakani Narsaiah, Pittala Lingaiah and others were also present.
