NIRMAL, JUNE 15, 2025: In a freak mishap, five youngsters from Hyderabad had reportedly feared drowned in the swirling waters of the river Godavari at the historic Basara temple shrine in Nirmal district on Sunday.
Reports reaching here said that the residents of Hyderabad, namely Rakesh, Vinod, Madan, Ruthik, and Bharath, all belong to the same family. A total of 18 persons of the same family arrived at Basara for a holy dip in the river Godavari. However, the mishap had claimed the lives of five youths.
The police have swung into action to retrieve the bodies by pressing into service the expert swimmers. Further details are awaited.
