Encroach the Government offices, schools and colleges to generate green energy by setting up roof-top solar power plants, which is mandatory as per the Smart City project
Remove encroachments in the interest of future requirements of the Collectorate
The parking space has existed for more than four decades, and it should not be converted into a plantation of saplings and cause a big menace in future
Do not waste the public exchequer by encroaching on parking spaces and erecting fencing around them for your whims and fancies
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 16, 2025: The Karimnagar District Officials remain mute spectators when the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) authorities, who have illogically and unscientifically converted the parking space, which has existed for the last four decades, by taking plantation of saplings and converted the first integrated Collectorate complex into a converted with no parking space and a concrete jungle.
Thanks to the lethargy on the part of the district officials, the MCK officials have converted the parking place into a plantation of saplings for ‘obvious’ reasons, causing umpteen woes to the visitors to the Collectorate. The MCK authorities, which instruct the commercial complexes, hospitals and other establishments for the creation of more parking space with the growing number of vehicles and rapid growth of Karimnagar town in leaps and bounds, have encroached the parking space on the Collectorate premises, as someone urinated on the open space when some people were walking. Incidentally, the officials had even removed cement benches erected for the visitors to sit and relax, as the so-called officials were irked that the visitors did not get up from the chairs when they were walking or visiting the office premises.
But the MCK officials should know that there was an open urinal adjacent to the existing Sulabh complex even before these so-called officials had arrived in Karimnagar town. But the MCK officials had removed the open urinals, forcing the people to urinate on the open premises. They should remember that all the people who are urinating in the open belong to the Revenue shopping complex opposite to the Collectorate, which has constructed shops without toilets.
Now with the removal of urinals, encroachment of parking space and erection of fencing, the people would definitely urinate very close to the road and cause nuisance. As it is evident with the closure of parking spaces at Ambedkar stadium and other parts of the town on the pretext of dumping garbage in the open. Now the people are dumping the garbage on the road because the MCK had not set up garbage bins and instead closed the place by erecting the fencing and causing traffic snarls.
The learned MCK officials should learn from Walmart, which provides more than 75 per cent space for parking. But, the visionless officials have reduced the parking space on the Collectorate premises by less than 20 per cent when the vehicular population is increasing steadily. The spacious Collectorate was converted into a converted one with the new Collectorate complex, a Registration office, RDO office albeit which was constructed as a guest house some two and have two decades ago, two Indiramma model houses, and, recently, the encroachment of parking space by erecting fencing by taking up plantation.
If the officials really have any vision for the development, they should take measures for the generation of green energy by taking up roof-top solar power plants on government offices, schools and colleges in Karimnagar town, which is mandatory as per Smart city norms. Stop encroaching on the parking space on the Collectorate premises in the interest of future requirements.
