HYDERABAD, APRIL 13, 2026: Union Ministry of Mines organised the Roadshow on the 7th Tranche of Critical & Strategic Mineral Blocks and the 2nd Tranche of Exploration Licence Blocks at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, Gachibowli, Telangana, on Monday.
The programme was attended by Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy and Telangana Mining Minister G. Vivek Venkatswamy and senior officials of the Ministry of Mines and state governments, PSUs and private companies.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Kishan Reddy highlighted the transformative reforms being undertaken in the mining sector to enhance mineral production and unlock India’s vast mineral potential. He emphasised that continuous policy reforms, transparent auction mechanisms, and a strong focus on ease of doing business are driving growth in the sector and attracting investor interest.
He further stated that the current tranche offers 19 critical and strategic mineral blocks, including minerals such as tungsten, lithium, tin, and rock phosphate, along with Exploration Licence Blocks under Tranche-II, which will play a crucial role in strengthening domestic supply chains. Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he remarked that “yahi samay hai, sahi samay hai” to reduce import dependence, accelerate sectoral growth, and position India as a self-reliant and globally competitive mining powerhouse.
Mr Gaddam Vivek Venkatswamy, Minister for Labour, Employment, Training and Factories, Mines and Geology, Government of Telangana, highlighted the State’s proactive approach in promoting an investor-friendly mining ecosystem with transparent policies, ease of doing business, and efficient clearances, and encouraged stakeholders to actively participate in the sector’s growth.
Mr Piyush Goyal, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, highlighted that the Ministry is ensuring transparent processes and timely operationalisation of mineral blocks, with a strong focus on facilitating investors and strengthening the overall mining ecosystem.
The Roadshow witnessed encouraging response from stakeholders and is expected to generate strong bidder interest, contributing to the Government’s vision of Viksit Bharat and further strengthening India’s position as a reliable and competitive player in the global mining sector.
