
JAGTIAL, JULY 11, 2025: The Government Degree College for Women (Autonomous), Jagtial, observed World Population Day to raise awareness about global population issues, including family planning, gender equality and sustainable development on Friday.
The NSS unit and the Health club of the college conducted the programme to educate the students about the ill effects of population explosion. Incharge principal T Pramod Kumar, NSS Programme officers N.Sangeeta Rani, D.Sujatha, G Srilatha, health club coordinator G Neeraja, explained in detail about the importance of family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights issues intertwined with the excessive population growth.
Speakers also ascertained that if the youth, the driving force for the nation, channels properly can do wonders in propelling the country into becoming a developed nation in no time. Mr Pramod Kumar appreciated the B.Com CA first-year student Athika Anam for her views on curtailing the population explosion. The programme was attended by G.Chandraiah, Mallikarjun, Jamuna, Jyotsna and others.
