
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 16, 2O25: Government Degree College, under the chairmanship of the College Principal, V. Vijayalakshmi, and under the guidance of Chemistry Department faculty member V. Vani, the International Ozone Layer Protection Day was celebrated in a grand manner.
Addressing the gathering, the College Principal stated that protecting the ozone layer is the responsibility of everyone. Without the ozone layer, life on Earth would not exist. The ozone layer is the indirect reason for the survival of living beings. If this protective layer did not exist, the Earth would have been burning like a fireball.
Chemistry faculty member Smt. V. Vani explained the theme of the program “From Science to Global Action”, elaborating scientifically on the causes of ozone layer depletion and the measures taken for its protection.
As part of the program, college students Radhika, Shivani, Vindu, Harshitha, Vijayalakshmi, and others presented posters and models illustrating the causes of ozone layer depletion and the lifestyle changes needed for its protection, in an impressive manner. They highlighted the importance of preserving the ozone layer, the need for changes in human lifestyles, innovation in government policies, and revolutionary transformations in scientific research.
The event was attended by Vice-PrincipalPrabhakar, P. Dharmapuri, Shravan Kumar, Aadi Vishnu, K. V. Bikshamayya, Srinivas Manohar, Sucharan, Krishna Prasad, Mahesh, Jagannatham, Shailaja, Deepika, Bhargavi, Ramya, Ravinder, along with other teaching, non-teaching staff and students.
