HANAMKONDA, APRIL 01, 2026: A one-day workshop on the preparation of household chemical products was conducted at Kakatiya Government College (Autonomous), Hanumakonda, under the aegis of the Department of Chemistry, on Wednesday. The workshop was organised in collaboration with the voluntary organisation Seva Bharati, Hyderabad.
College Principal Professor G. Srinivas presided over the programme. In this training programme, P. Jayanthi from Seva Bharati served as the resource person and provided hands-on training in the preparation of washing powder, phenyl, liquid soap, floor cleaner, and pain balm. Principal G. Srinivas stated that such programmes help enhance students’ employability skills and provide them with opportunities to earn while learning.
The programme was convened by the Head of the Department of Chemistry, Professor Vasam Srinivas, and M. Vijayalakshmi served as the Organising Secretary. The workshop was conducted in two sessions (morning and afternoon) with complete practical demonstrations. Students actively participated and gained hands-on experience in preparing these products. During the valedictory session, students expressed their interest in producing these items independently for self-employment. They also showed keen interest in learning about the suppliers of raw materials required for preparing these products.
The workshop was attended by Vice Principal R. Rajanilatha, IQAC Coordinator Professor Srinath, faculty members of the Chemistry Department, including Edama Srinivas Reddy, B. Sandhya Rani, D. Veeranna, B. Ramesh, as well as Heads of other Departments, including Komala, Dinesh, P. Pallavi, and several students.
