
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 27, 2024: Vasavi Vaagdevi Vanitha Club, Karimnagar, which was founded on Ugadi festival last year, has won accolades for their social services activities within a short duration in Karimnagar town.
Under the leadership of its President Madishetty Uma Devi and General Secretary M Swaroopa and other office-bearers have won appreciations from all sections of society for their charity and other social service programmes in the town.
During the elections, they had printed a pamphlet and educated the voters about the importance of exercising their franchise and distributed the same among the walkers in Karimnagar town. To promote the religious activities, they had started conducting the ‘Punnami roju Kunkuma roju’ by organising kum kum puja rituals by its members in all the temples in the town.
They participated in the distribution of sarees to the pregnant women during the mass baby shower programmes organised by the district women and child welfare department at Anganwadi centres. They distributed gold thali and silver mettalu to Sri Seetha Ramachandra Swamy kalyanotsavam at Vavilalapalli Sri Ramalayam and also presented ‘Sare’ to Seethamamma.
On the occasion of World book reading, they had distributed dictionaries to the inmates of Bala Gokulam of Venkat Foundation iun Karimnagar. They had donated groceries to the Sri Veerabrahmendra Swamy oldage and orphanage in Karimnagar town. They also organised a pilgrimage tour of its members to the historic temples such as Swayambhu Manasa Devi temple at Khasimpet, Astadasha Shakthi peetam at Kondapaka, Ganesh temple at Paruvella.
Name any event, the Vasavi club members are in forefront to serve the society. They had also felicitated doctors, teachers, engineers on their respective days.
