
KARIMNAGAR, JULY 27, 2025: The CBSE Inter-School Kabaddi Cluster VII Meet 2025 concluded with a splendid valedictory function at Vivekananda Residential School, Karimnagar. The three-day event, filled with adrenaline, athleticism, and camaraderie, saw participation from around 55 CBSE-affiliated schools from across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Young athletes competed with determination and displayed remarkable sportsmanship throughout the tournament, making it a truly memorable sporting occasion.
The chief guest for the evening Dr. Ch. Amit Kumar, President of the District Kabaddi Association, addressed the gathering with an inspiring message that encouraged the players to carry forward the values of discipline, focus, and resilience. His presence was deeply motivating for the students and teams present. The function was graced by several eminent personalities including Ch. Sampath Rao, Vice President of the Telangana Kabaddi Association, L. Venkata Ramana, B. Mallesh Goud, Secretary of the District Kabaddi Association, and N. Laxmi Narayana, all of whom applauded the sportsmanship and competitive spirit shown by the participants.
As the tournament drew to a close, the winners and runners-up teams were felicitated amidst loud cheers and appreciation. Under-14 Category Prakash Vidyanikethan, Payakaraopet, AP lifted the winner’s trophy, while Veritas Sainik School, Tirupati, secured the runners-up position after an intense and thrilling final match. Under-17 Category Veritas Sainik School, Tirupati, AP lifted the winner’s trophy, while Sri Vidhya Peeth, Narketpally, Telangana, secured the runners-up position. Under-19 Category Prakash Vidyanikethan, Payakaraopet, AP lifted the winner’s trophy, while Sister Nivedita School, Hyderabad, Telangana, secured the runners-up position. As announced by Velchala Rajender Rao, Chairman of the District Kabaddi Association, cash prizes of 10K was awarded to the winners, runners-up were awarded 8K in each category and the third place were awarded 5K. His thoughtful gesture was met with applause and appreciation, as it served to motivate the young players and promote the spirit of sportsmanship. Individual excellence was also recognised, with awards presented to the best raider, best defender, and other standout performers who left an indelible mark on the tournament.
Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, Chairman of Vivekananda Residential School, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to all the participants and extended his warm appreciation to the winners. In his message, he said, “We are truly honoured to have hosted this prestigious Cluster Meet. Kabaddi is more than a game—it teaches resilience, teamwork, and the power of unity. We are proud of every student who participated with such spirit. I extend my gratitude to all the coaches, referees, staff, and well-wishers who made this event a grand success.”
Director of Academics, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, and the Principal, Mrs. Renuka Balivada also expressed their sincere thanks to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth conduct of the tournament. A special note of gratitude was extended to the coaches, referees, players, and the teaching and non-teaching staff whose commitment and collaboration brought the event to life
The evening came to a graceful close with vibrant cultural performances by the students of Vivekananda Residential School, followed by the playing of the National Anthem, marking not just the end of a tournament, but also the celebration of youth, unity, and the enduring spirit of sports.
