This CSR initiative from UST has transformed a once-barren lake into a water resource, benefiting over 1,000+ residents in the Nizampet area of Hyderabad
HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 16, 2024: UST, a leading digital transformation solutions company, has partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to restore Bongulakunta Lake in Nizampet, Hyderabad, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
This restoration initiative aims to benefit approximately 250 families in the surrounding area, providing over 1,000 residents with a reliable water supply through their borewells. In addition to restoring the lake, UST’s Hyderabad CSR team has also developed a walkway around the pond, creating a community space that features a children’s park and seating areas for recreation and community engagement.
UST’s CSR team in Hyderabad played a key role in revitalizing the lake, which had suffered significant water loss due to drought and neglect. The project includes constructing a restoration bund and developing a water storage facility to aid in the lake’s recovery.
The inauguration was officiated by Mrs Vijayalakshmi Subba Rao, Corporator of Nizampet Division – 1 and Mr Venkata Peram, UST Center Head- Hyderabad. UST’s CSR Team members Tirumala Vijaykumar P, Bikshapathi Endla, Surya Seshagiri Rao Khandavilli, Narendra Kanakala, Shahul Syed were also present at the event.

This lake restoration activity not only aims to address water conservation but also improves community well-being and environmental sustainability. UST was previously recognized for its CSR excellence in Hyderabad and received the Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association Award (2023) for its outstanding social contributions in the tech hub of Hyderabad.
