Similarly, former MP Vinod Kumar, who strived for securing PCI approval in the year 2016, is serious with the university authorities
KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 24, 2026: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has expressed his ire over the shifting of the M Pharmacy courses from the University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the shores of LMD reservoir in Karimnagar town to the Satavahana University main campus.

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has approved M Pharmacy Courses for the academic year 2025-26 at the University of Pharmaceutical Sciences with specialisations in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis, each with an intake of 15 seats.
The University Pharmacy College, located on the shores of the LMD reservoir, was established in 2008. It has been successfully functioning since then. However, the Satavahana University authorities had shifted the M Pharmacy Course to the University Science College for the reasons better known to the authorities concerned.
It may be recalled that then Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar had strived for the approval of PCI to the University Pharmacy College in the year 2016. The Former MP is also serious about the shifting of the M Pharmacy courses from the University of Pharmaceutical Sciences to the Satavaha University main campus, denying adequate facilities to the students.
Following the shifting of the M Pharmacy course to the Satavahana University, the students are suffering a lot due to the non-availability of the labs and adequate equipment for their education and research. With the PCI team inspection scheduled to visit the college between February 26 to March 7, 2026, the shifting of M Pharmacy courses to the SU main campus would pose a serious issue.
The Pharmacy college authorities are concerned over the shifting of the M Pharmacy College from the fully-equipped University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences to the SU main campus for obvious reasons. It may be recalled that then Karimnagar MP and present Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar had secured a Food Science course for the Satavahana University.
Incidentally, the university authorities had initiated the construction of new buildings to accommodate the B Pharmacy and M Pharmacy courses in new enclosures, hostels, and additional facilities. The existing University Pharmacy college houses a fully-equipped computer lab with a digital library and software for pharmacological experiments. But, all these facilities were denied to the students and their bright career with the illogical attitude of the University’s main campus authorities.
