JAGTIAL, APRIL 02, 2026: As part of the “Academic Empowerment Programme for Government Degree Colleges – 100 Days Initiative” approved by Satavahana University, Karimnagar, the two-day “Hindi Translation Training Workshop” organised at GDC for women in Jagtial concluded on Thursday.
Addressing the valedictory session, Md. Jameel Ahmed, HoD, Dept of Hindi, Telangana University, as the Chief Guest, stated that “Translation is a bridge between languages.” He explained that translation establishes a connection between different languages and cultures and enables a wide exchange of knowledge and ideas. Encouraging students to pursue translation studies, he emphasised that this field holds immense opportunities in the present time.
The program was presided over by the college Principal, Prof. K. Ramakrishna. In his address, he motivated the students to utilise the knowledge gained from the workshop in their academic studies and future careers and extended his best wishes for their bright future.
The workshop coordinator, Hindi Prof. V. Varaprasad, presented a brief report on the objectives of the workshop and the activities conducted over the two days. He informed that through the lectures of 10 resource persons, the 68 registered students were introduced to various topics related to translation and to the theoretical and practical aspects of Hindi translation.
Faculty members, research scholars, and a large number of students attended the program. On this occasion, the college IQAC Coordinator N. Vasavi and other Hindi faculty members Komura Reddy, Anantha Lakshmi, E. Rajkumar, Rajeswar, Ali Khan and others also participated.
The faculty members of the college, including Prof. Pramod Kumar, Sangeeta Rani, G. Ramachandram, S. Mallikarjun, V. Jamuna, G. Neeraja, and G. Srilata, congratulated the Head of the Hindi Department, Prof. Vasala Varaprasad, for his dedicated efforts in successfully organising the workshop.
