
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 29, 2025: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women, Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, celebrated the Telugu Language Day on Friday by paying rich tributes to Writer and Linguist Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy, who worked to simplify the language and make it more accessible to the general public, and is remembered on his birth anniversary.
On this occasion, Principal K. Lavanya said, “Our Telugu language has a glorious history of more than 2,000 years. Great literary figures such as Gurajada Apparao, Viswanatha Satyanarayana, Sri Sri, and C. Narayana Reddy introduced Telugu literature to the world. Our language is the symbol of our culture and pride. It is the responsibility of everyone to preserve and promote the Telugu language,” she stated. She said that Telugu is one of the sweetest and beautiful languages, widely spoken in the country and the world.
The programme was attended by Vice Principal B. Sumalatha, College Superintendent N. Srinivas, Head of Telugu Department S. Sandhyarani, Telugu Lecturer V. Swapna, other faculty members, and students, who all recalled the glory of the Telugu language.
