
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29. 2025: SRR Government Arts and Science College, Karimnagar, celebrated the Telugu Language Day on Friday by paying rich tributes to Writer and Linguist Gidugu Venkata Ramamurthy, who worked to simplify the language and make it more accessible to the general public, and is remembered on his birth anniversary.
On this occasion, Principal K Ramakrishna said, “Our Telugu language has a glorious history of more than 2,000 years. Great literary figures such as Gurajada Apparao, Viswanatha Satyanarayana, Sri Sri, and C. Narayana Reddy introduced Telugu literature to the world. Our language is the symbol of our culture and pride. It is the responsibility of everyone to preserve and promote the Telugu language,” he stated. He added that Telugu is one of the sweetest and beautiful languages, widely spoken in the country and the world.
Renowned stage artist Turpati Kishtayya attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Telugu language is filled with melodious and meaningful poems, and he recited some of them with sweetness. Head of the Department of Telugu, Bourla Chandrasekhar, said that the spoken language is the lifeline of our daily life. He emphasised that all forms of art are nurtured through the spoken language, and only by preserving the mother tongue can these art forms flourish.
Harjyoth Kaur, IQAC Coordinator of the college, praised the mother tongue, stating that it is full of sweetness and beauty. Faculty members D. Prakash, R. Srinivas, Mettu Venkateshwarlu, Patha Ashok, P. Chaitanya, T. Bhojanna, P. Anil, and P. Shankar—along with students, participated in the programme
