
HYDERABAD, JULY 23, 2025: The Telangana Postal Circle has launched the Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0 Project across all 5727 Post Offices in Telangana Circle, encompassing 32 Head Post Offices, 689 Sub Post Offices and 5006 Branch Post Offices. Dr. P. V. S. Reddy, Chief Postmaster General, Telangana Circle participated in rollout of APT 2.0 at Hyderabad GPO on Tuesday.
APT 2.0 aims to deliver a significantly enhanced customer experience, leveraging digital tools and interfaces to ensure faster, transparent and doorstep-enabled postal services. The upgraded IT infrastructure now supports service delivery across four key channels:
- Across the Counter Services
- At Customer Doorstep (via Postmen and Grameen Dak Sevaks)
- Online Platforms
- Agency Services (Franchise Outlets)
Key Features of APT 2.0:
Across the Counter Services:
- Introduction of UPI-based payment collection for greater ease and cashless transactions.
- End-to-End consignment tracking with real-time mobile updates to customers.
- Branch Post Offices now equipped with mobile applications for booking and managing customer transactions.
- Facility to book e-Money Orders (eMOs) directly to Branch Post Offices.
- Customers can now predefine delivery instructions at the time of mail booking.
Doorstep Delivery Services:
- Doorstep Services Application deployed to all Delivery Staff and GDS for secure and authenticated mail delivery.
- Digital signature capture and video recording as part of the secure delivery process.
- Pickup services, including from Branch Post Office levels, integrated into the same app.
- UPI-enabled collection of Cash-on-Delivery (COD) payments at customer residences.
Online Services:
- Public access to the Dak Seva Portal, enabling online booking of domestic, international mail, eMO and ePost
- Launch of MEGHA – a Mobile Chatbot for customer queries, complaint registration, post office location, and article tracking.
- Tracking facility extended even for unregistered articles booked across Post Offices.
Agency Services:
- Franchisee applications have been updated to provide a more user-friendly interface, enabling smoother booking, payment collection and service delivery for customers through authorized franchise outlets.
Rolling out of APT 2.0 represents a major leap forward in the digitization of Postal services, aligning with the Government of India’s Digital India vision. The new system empowers citizens, particularly in rural areas, with more accessible, reliable and technology-enabled postal solutions.
