
SIDDIPET, OCTOBER 24, 2025: Governor of Telangana Jishnu Dev Varma visited Kaveri University and Kaveri Seeds Company in Gawraram village of Siddipet district on Friday. During this visit, the Governor reviewed the outstanding progress, achievements, and research and development (R&D) initiatives of both institutions in the presence of University Chancellor G.V. Bhaskar Rao, Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Praveen Rao, and other dignitaries. He interacted with university students, faculty members, and researchers.
The Governor emphasised that students should lead social change by applying knowledge to enhance agricultural productivity, technology, and research. He also spoke about the state government’s ongoing initiatives in the education sector.
The program began with a visit to Kaveri University, where the Governor examined the university profile. He toured various laboratories, including Entomology, Pathology, Soil Science, Breeding, and Physiology. He explored an exhibition showcasing diverse technologies, including drone technology, robotics, 3D printing, AR & VR models, and agricultural innovations developed by students.

Following this, the Governor observed the Vermi Compost programmes and inaugurated the newly established Integrated Research Centre. He visited facilities such as Tissue Culture, Genomics, Speed Breeding, Plant Health Labs, and the Gene Bank, praising their advanced capabilities.
Chancellor G.V. Bhaskar Rao expressed that the Governor’s visit was a great honour for the university and highlighted the institution’s proposals and programs aimed at the holistic development of students.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Praveen Rao stated that Kaveri University is committed to pioneering new research directions. He mentioned that collaborative research projects with Kaveri Seeds Company would significantly strengthen the state’s agricultural sector.
The event was attended by District Collector K. Haimavathi, Police Commissioner Vijay Kumar, RDO V. Chandrakala, MRO Raghuveera Reddy, ACP Narasimhulu, CI Mahender Reddy, Kaveri University Registrar B. Srinivasulu, Student Welfare Director Harsha Polsani, Agricultural Dean A. Pratap Kumar Reddy, Engineering Dean Dr. Konda Srinivas, professors, scientists, and a large number of students.
