NALGONDA, APRIL 07, 2026: “A profile is a concise description, outline, or analysis of a person highlighting key characteristics, data, or traits,” said former Vice Chancellor of Chaitanya Deemed to be University and former Professor of English at Kakatiya University Prof. G. Damodar.
Addressing Post-Graduate students of English at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) on Tuesday, Prof G Damodar exhorted the students to improve their profile to get placed well. A good profile attracts the attention of the employer as it increases searchability for recruiters and provides an exact narrative of personal value, he added. Prof Damodar highlighted the key uses of a good profile quite extensively. Explaining the key words into actionable steps, he said, “Clarity and Structure, visual appeal, tailoring for impact and digital optimisation” through real-world examples and illustrated how polished profiles led to job offers at top firms.
Earlier speaking on Shakespeare’s contribution to English, Prof Damodar said that Shakespeare popularised several thousand words, idioms and phrases. “Shakespeare’s frequent violation of standard grammatical rules added precision to his character development and elevated the dramatic potential of English,” he remarked. Speaking on the occasion, Registrar of MGU Prof Anji Reddy thanked Prof Damodar for equipping the students with practical tools to craft compelling and professional profiles in the current competitive job market. Director of Student Affairs of MGU, Aruna Priya, Shyam Sunder, D Raveender Reddy, Amala, Manideep, Adjunct Professor of Botany Prof B Digambar Rao and students of II and IV Semesters of MA English were present. Earlier in the morning, Prof Damodar called on MGU Vice Chancellor Prof Khaja Althaf Hussain and donated some books related to language and literature to the university.
