
WARANGAL, DECEMBER 20, 2025: “Follow traffic signals strictly and adhere to speed limits to avoid accidents,” said Adjunct Professor of English at Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, Prof Srinivas Vooradi.
Participating as the chief guest at the Road Safety Awareness Programme organised at the Seminar Hall of the Kakatiya Government Degree & PG (Autonomous) College, Hanamkonda, on Saturday, Mr Srinivas urged the students to wear helmets on two-wheelers and not to use a mobile phone while driving.
“Road accidents claim millions of lives annually, often due to speeding, drunk driving or distractions affecting not just drivers but families and communities,” he added.
Presiding over the Programme, Principal of the College Prof G Srinivas exhorted the students to promote awareness among the people to follow the traffic rules meticulously. Speaking on the occasion, Sub-Inspector of Police (Traffic) Komarelli enlightened the students on the consequences of violation of traffic rules. Convenor of the Programme and Associate Professor of English of the College, Bhukya Srinivas Rathod, explained about the activities conducted for the students as part of the Programme and added that competitions in essay writing, elocution and poster presentation were conducted for the students from the undergraduate college in the tricities.
Winners of the competitions were given away prizes on the occasion. Vice Principal of the College Satyanarayana Reddy, Associate Professor of English Praveen Kumar and others spoke on the occasion. IQAC Coordinator and Head of the Department of English, Srinath, P Dinakar and Director of the Women Empowerment Cell Samata, Rajesh, members of the Road Safety Awareness Programme Committee, representative from Pingle Govt Degree and PG College, Shyamsunder Reddy and NCC cadets, NSS volunteers and students participated.
